Armando Simoni Club Bologna Extra Fountain Pen Review

After meeting again at the DC pen show, Emmanuel of the Armando Simoni Club lent me this pen and after using it for a few days, I had to buy it: it is a stunning piece in the much sought-after arco bronze celluloid, with a great nib and a cool filling system.

With all the new flex nibs hitting the market recently, I thought I would compare the Aurora 88 with the brand’s new 14k “vintage flex” nib, the Franklin-Christoph Model 66 with the new 14k flex nib, and the good old classic Pilot Falcon (metal body) with 14k flex nib. Let’s see how these three nibs fare face-to-face.

Aurora 88 Anniversario with Flex Nib

I picked up this pen at La Couronne du Comte (don’t forget that BROWN10 gives you 10% off there!) and I find it a fascinating pen. The real question, of course, is: is the nib comparable to vintage flex nibs, as Aurora claims? Watch the full review to find out.
